COB, or Continuous Open Bidding, is a more relaxed way to join a sorority compared to formal recruitment. Instead of going through the structured, process of formal recruitment, COB gives you the chance to meet sisters in a casual setting, ask questions, and experience our sisterhood in a more personal way. It’s less about schedules and rounds, and more about making genuine connections. Whether you’re looking for a smaller, one-on-one experience or you missed formal recruitment, COB is an awesome opportunity to find your home in Alpha Xi Delta. At Millersville, COB occurs in the fall semester and after formal recruitment in the spring.What is formal recruitment? Formal Recruitment is the main process universities use to help potential new members find their sorority home. It’s a structured, multi-day event where you’ll meet different chapters, learn about their values, and see where you feel the strongest connection. While it may feel fast-paced at times, Formal Recruitment is designed to give you a glimpse into the heart of each sisterhood. At Alpha Xi Delta, we love sharing who we are during this time—our traditions, our friendships, and the joy of sisterhood. Formal Recruitment is the perfect way to explore all the amazing opportunities sorority life has to offer and discover where you truly belong. At Millersville, formal recruitment happens in the spring semester.
